I have been the editor of Student Wire since April 2014, running the magazine alongside my studies. Since that time I have written almost 100 articles for the publication, secured a number of advertising campaigns with brands such as Future Finance and Anglia Ruskin University. I have developed my digital media skills from blogging to social media content planning.
As the editor I have had the opportunity to explore the journalism side of things that I hadn’t considered upon entering my degree in PR. Honing my writing skills along with my time-management and campaign planning. Part of my role has been to rally the team of student writers from universities all across the UK, giving me access to a huge pool of young writers. I have created content ideas not only for the social side of things but also as inspiration to those writers’ who have been suffering from writers block.
Working with big brands such as BT, Reading & Leeds festival and the UK Blog Awards I have developed my professional skills and portfolio of work. I have ran online competitions and established a strong passion for blogging. The opportunities that my year with Student Wire have presented have been second to none and the skills that I have developed have become invaluable.
